Thursday, 14 September 2023
Please enjoy these pictures of our inaugural Wound Forum breakfast at Parliament House in Canberra on Tuesday 12 September. It was attended by a range of VIPs and special guests including MPs, Senators, leaders from the Department of Health and Aged Care, industry partners and our friends and affiliates in the health advocacy sector.

In his speech, Minister for Health and Aged Care the Hon Mark Butler MP touched on the recently announced Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme, calling it "the brainchild of Wounds Australia" and praising our dogged advocacy over the years.

The Minister also launched the updated Australian Standards for Wound Prevention and Management with Dr Debra Turner of the Western Australian Health Translation Network.

Thanks to all who attended  in particular, Senior Ngunnawal Elder Aunty Violet Sheridan for her warm Welcome to Country  and helped continue the conversation about Australia's hidden wound epidemic.
