What does a wound care nurse do? Hayley Ryan talks to the ANMJ.
Friday, 8 September 2023
In a Q&A with the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Journal this week, wound care clinician and Wounds Australia Board Chair Hayley Ryan talked about the broad-ranging knowledge and skills wound professionals possess, and described a typical day on the job.

(Spoiler alert: there's no such thing as 'typical'!)

Hayley also described the kind of education - ideally a Masters degree - these expert care professionals need to undertake, building on the minimal wound care-specific training offered by most Australian tertiary medical courses.

It was a fascinating chat that you can read in full here. Thanks to the ANMJ - the official publication of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Foundation - for talking to Hayley during Wound Awareness Week.
