Get your bake on this September to help raise funds for wound awareness! Wound Awareness Week is the national campaign to raise awareness of Australia's chronic wound epidemic. With more than 450,000 Australians living with a hard-to-heal wound every year, at an annual cost to our shared health and aged care budgets of more than $6.6 billion, it's crucial that we keep educating the nation on preventing and managing wounds. Oozy treats for all!In 2023 we introduced the world to Oozie T. Wound – a fun mascot with a serious message to share about the embarrassing, isolating, painful and costly realities of living with a chronic wound. Oozie is the host of our Big Oozie Bake Off morning teas, a chance for clinicians and patients around the country to start a conversation about wounds while enjoying an oozy treat... and raise funds for chronic wound awareness campaigns and education. ![]() And Australia got behind Oozie at morning teas around the country! Check out our photo archive for some baking inspiration. Host a fundraiserHosting your own Big Oozie Bake Off gold coin fundraiser is easy.
